Roast Pork with Chinese Lettuce recipe


1 clove garlic.
1 tablespoon of sugar.
4 tablespoons of soy sauce.
1 ½ teaspoon of salt.
¼ teaspoon of pepper.
5 lbs of pork.
1 head of Chinese lettuce.


Mince the garlic, then combine with the sugar, soy sauce, salt and pepper.

Rub over the pork and allow to stand for 60 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Place the pork on a rack over a roasting pan containing several inches of water; then roast for 60 minutes.

Cut the lettuce in 1-inch sections.

Remove the pork and drain off the fat. Set rack aside.

Line the bottom of the pan with lettuce, then place the pork on top.

Return to oven and roast for 45 minutes longer.
